Sales Manager

Lead the Bagason direct-sales team to deliver volume, distribution and margin targets across your channel — with the Odoo dashboard as the source of truth and the approvals workflow as your control surface.
Responsibilities
- Build the monthly sales plan by route, customer and brand
- Coach salesmen in the field at least two days a week
- Negotiate Trade Agreements (BDAs) and rebates
- Act as first-line approver on credit-limit increases
- Drive launches, activations and visibility programmes

- 5+ years UAE/GCC FMCG sales experience

2. Reporting Line
Reports to: Managing Director / Head of Sales
Supervises: Salesmen, Sales Merchandisers, Van Sales team
4. Day-to-Day Odoo Workflow
Bagason runs end-to-end on Odoo 18 across three legal entities. This role operates inside the system every working day:
- approvals_bagason dashboard — Daily: clear the queue of credit-limit increase requests, backdating exceptions, override requests, and pricelist deviations. SLA tracked; bulk-approve where appropriate.
- Sales Analysis — Monthly: target vs actual by salesperson, customer, brand. Drill into variances before the leadership review.
- Trade Agreements (bagason_trade_agreements) — Configure new BDAs: agreement type, claim_mode (single or partial), claim schedule per period, growth slab tiers, achievement-report generation.
- Credit Control (bagason_credit_control) — Per-company feature flags review (90% soft-warn, hard-block, DSO auto-block, 24h override) — agree with Finance Manager.
- Customer onboarding workflow — KYC, VAT TRN, pricelist assignment, credit limit setup — must run through the standard approval chain.
- Pricelist Mass Update — Quarterly: review proposed seasonal updates (e.g. the Apr 2026 batch was 1,417 increases + 2,158 new entries across 19 pricelists). Approve before publish.
5. Compliance Gates & Controls
The following system-enforced controls apply to this role. Bypassing or working around them is treated as a breach of the Code of Conduct.
- Approvals SLA (approvals_bagason Wave 5): Credit-limit increases and override requests have a 24-hour SLA visible in the audit log — your manager and Finance see SLA breaches.
- Segregation of Duties: A Sales Manager cannot self-approve their own customer's overrides. Approvals route via tier matrix to Finance / MD when the threshold is hit.
- Backdating exception authority: Sales Manager may comment but Jeevan or Suraj are the named approvers for backdated SO/PO/Picking/invoice exceptions beyond 15 days.
- BDA discipline: Trade Agreement entitlements and achievement reports are auditable. Side-letters or off-system commitments are not permitted.
- Customer master changes: Material changes (credit limit, payment terms, parent partner) trigger automatic re-approval in approvals_bagason — do not pressure team to bypass.
6. KPIs & Success Metrics
All KPIs below are pulled from Odoo reports and dashboards — no manual spreadsheets.
- Monthly & quarterly sales target attainment — Sales Analysis, by team
- Distribution coverage — active customers / universe, from Sales Analytics
- Gross margin % vs plan — Margin Analysis report
- AR > 60 days as % of total — Aged Receivable, by team
- Approval queue clearance time — approvals_bagason dashboard SLA
- Team retention (12-month rolling) — HR Reports
7. Competencies
Behavioural: Leadership, commercial acumen, decisiveness, accountability, controls instinct.
Technical: 5+ years FMCG sales experience in UAE/GCC, BDA / rebate negotiation, P&L literacy, fluent in Odoo Sales + approvals_bagason + bagason_trade_agreements. English fluent (Arabic strongly preferred).
8. Working Conditions
Mix of office and field. UAE driving licence required. Some travel within the UAE; occasional GCC travel. Six-day week.
